A farmer has a cow thethered to an outside corner of a 10' x 10' barn with 90' of rope. He wants to plants grass in places that the cow can reach, no more and no less. How many square feet of grass does the farmer need to plant?
(p.s) This cow, Bertha is smart and won't walk around the barn in a complete circle over and over again. There is a certain point when shes walking that she cont cross and she will just walk the other way to avoid wrapping her rope around the barn and leaving her with no free space.
This whole problem was definitely the most challenging in many ways. From the first day, having to draw out the diagram took multiple attempts and really challenged my creativity and ability to physically imagine problems. I also struggled as I had to find ways to break this circle up, I really believed it was nearly impossible. I think moving on, keeping this experience in mind I should confront problems by breaking them up into manageable pieces. No matter how abnormal it may seem, stick to what I know and go from there. The group quiz we took was helpful in a way that we reminded each other of the steps and caught each other when we made mistakes. If I were to grade myself I would give myself a A- because I did try my best and was enthusiastic about this problem, spreading that to my team mates. However, I am disappointed that at times I was really ready to give up.
